How to Choose a Conveyor Belt Supplier in China
A practical buyer guide to comparing conveyor belt suppliers by legal identity, technical response, quotation scope, evidence, order control and export readiness.

Planned role: visible product form and surface pattern. Source restoration and review are required before public use.
Choose a conveyor beltsupplier in China by verifying four things in order: who is responsible for the order, whether the supplier understands the application, whether the quotation is technically and commercially comparable, and whether the evidence matches the exact product you may buy. Price should be compared only after these four checks use the same RFQ baseline.
A trading company is not automatically a poor choice, and a factory is not automatically a safe choice. What matters is a transparent supply scope, a complete technical response, traceable evidence, and clear responsibility from enquiry through delivery.
Two offers may use the same short label but cover different products. A fabric belt described as EP 500/3 may still differ in cover thickness, cover grade, width tolerance, edge construction, length tolerance, testing basis, packing and document scope. A steel cord designation also does not replace the remaining construction and cover details.
This is why buyers should not begin with a supplier score or price ranking. Begin with one purchasing specification, send the same RFQ package to each candidate, and require assumptions and exclusions to be written into the offer.
Illustration. Use one RFQ baseline so each supplier responds to the same application, belt specification, commercial scope and evidence request.
Confirm the legal entity that will quote, sign the contract, receive payment and issue export documents. If production, testing, exporting or after-sales responsibility involves different entities, ask the supplier to explain the relationship and name the responsible party for each stage.
Do not treat a factory photograph as proof of ownership, capacity or control. Use photographs and video calls as context, then verify the business identity, address, contract entity and payment beneficiary through appropriate records. For management-system certificates, check the organization name, site, scope, standard, issuing body and validity. IAF CertSearch can support checks of accredited certificates that are available in its database, but absence or presence of one record should not replace the complete supplier review.
Evaluation area | What to verify | Risk signal |
Identity and responsibility | Legal entity, contract party, payment beneficiary and role of each organization | Entity mismatch or unexplained responsibility |
Technical response | Questions about application, complete proposed specification and stated assumptions | Fast price without technical clarification |
Comparable quotation | Same construction, dimensions, grade, standard, quantity, packing and Incoterm | Missing fields hidden inside a low unit price |
Evidence fit | Documents and reports linked to the relevant entity, product, standard and timing | Generic certificates or unrelated test reports |
Order control | Revision control, inspection point, marks, packing, milestones and change approval | Verbal promises without a controlled order record |
A useful supplier does more than repeat the product name in the enquiry. The response should identify missing information and explain which variables can change the recommended construction or quotation.
For conveyor belts, the review normally starts with the material conveyed, conveyor route, loading and impact, belt width and length, required strength, carcass type, number of plies where relevant, top and bottom cover thickness, cover requirement, operating and peak temperature, oil or chemical exposure, fire-safety requirement, edge type, splice or endless supply, quantity and applicable standard.
The current ISO 14890:2026 page is a useful reminder that a conveyor-belt standard still contains items to be agreed between manufacturer and purchaser and information intended to be supplied with an enquiry. Naming a standard is not a substitute for completing the order specification.

Storage and handling arrangements are part of supplier review. The visible scene does not prove product identity, capacity, ownership or export history.
Ask every candidate to return a line-by-line specification instead of a one-line price. The quotation should distinguish confirmed requirements, supplier assumptions, optional items and exclusions.
Quotation section | Fields to align |
Product definition | Belt type, carcass, strength, plies or cord details where applicable |
Dimensions | Width, total length, supply length split, top and bottom covers, edge and supply form |
Application | Material, route, loading, impact, abrasion, continuous and peak conditions |
Standard and acceptance | Applicable standard edition, agreed properties, methods and tolerances |
Inspection and documents | Inspection plan, report type, sample or batch identity, certificate availability |
Commercial scope | Quantity, price basis, Incoterm, packing, marks, destination and validity |
Delivery control | Milestones, readiness definition, document release and approved-change process |
Evidence is useful only when its identity and scope are clear. A general company certificate does not prove a particular belt grade. A test report for another construction, standard or sample does not automatically prove the quoted belt. A product photo can show visible form and surface, but it cannot confirm hidden carcass construction, compound formulation or performance.
Before an order, agree which documents will be supplied, when they will be issued, what product or batch they will identify, and which acceptance criteria apply. Where risk justifies it, agree a sample review, production inspection or third-party inspection in writing. Each has limits: a sample can confirm observable features and selected tests, but it cannot by itself prove full-order consistency or service life.

A visible instrument is only inspection context. A buyer still needs the method, sample identity, result, date and acceptance basis for product-specific evidence.
Supplier evaluation should continue after technical selection. Confirm the order specification, drawing or datasheet revision, production milestones, inspection point, marking, packing, roll diameter and weight information where required, document list, Incoterm, destination, unloading constraints and change-approval process.
Do not treat a promised date as a complete delivery plan. The buyer and supplier should distinguish production completion, inspection release, cargo readiness, booking, actual shipment and document release.

Pause the comparison when a supplier avoids technical questions, changes the specification without marking the change, sends certificates that do not match the contracting entity or scope, provides test reports without a traceable product identity, refuses to state quotation exclusions, or asks for payment to an unexplained beneficiary.
These signs do not automatically prove misconduct. They indicate that the buyer does not yet have enough controlled information to approve the supplier or the order.
GRAND RUBBER is an engineering-oriented manufacturer and international supplier of industrial rubber products founded in 2004. The approved company introduction describes a manufacturing base of approximately 100,000 m², around 20 production lines, annual capacity of approximately 1.5 million m² and supply to more than 50 countries. These are company-level statements and do not replace product-specific confirmation.
For a conveyor-belt enquiry, GRAND RUBBER can review the application and specification, identify missing RFQ fields, define the proposed product and quotation scope, and confirm applicable inspection, document, packing and delivery requirements for the actual order. Product grade, standard, test scope, certificates, lead time and final documents remain subject to the confirmed specification and project review.
Send the same application data and purchasing requirements to each shortlisted supplier. Ask each one to return the completed specification, assumptions, evidence plan, commercial scope and delivery basis. This creates a decision record that purchasing, engineering and management can review together.
To request a preliminary review from GRAND RUBBER, send the belt specification or old-belt information, material and operating conditions, quantity, destination and required documents to info@grandrubbers.com.
· The legal entity, contract party and payment beneficiary are explained.
· The supplier has returned a complete proposed belt specification.
· All quotations use the same application and commercial baseline.
· Assumptions, options, exclusions and deviations are visible.
· Certificates and reports match the relevant entity, scope and product decision.
· Inspection, packing, marking, documents and milestones are agreed.
· The final specification and change-control process will be approved in writing.
No. The business model matters less than transparent responsibility, technical competence, evidence fit and control of the order. Confirm who manufactures, tests, exports, receives payment and handles corrective action.
Send one controlled RFQ or specification sheet with the same application, belt construction, dimensions, standard, quantity, packing, destination and document requirements. Mark unknown fields instead of guessing.
Normalize both offers into the same field-by-field table. Separate confirmed requirements, supplier assumptions, options and exclusions. Do not compare price until the technical and commercial bases match.
They provide context, but they do not by themselves prove ownership, capacity, product identity, testing capability or order control. Match visual context with entity records, process evidence and product-specific documents.
The report should make its scope traceable: supplier or laboratory identity, product or sample identity, specification or standard, test method, result, date and approval status. Exact requirements depend on the product and order.
Freeze the approved specification, drawing or datasheet revision, quantity and roll plan, marking, packing, inspection and document requirements, commercial terms and the method for approving changes.
